About Saccharomyces boulardii

S. boulardii is a special probiotic that’s a strain of yeast, not bacteria. Studies have shown that S. boulardii is safe and effective for cats and dogs and that it can prevent and reduce diarrhea from multiple causes. It has anti-inflammatory properties. As a probiotic, it is especially helpful for regrowing gut microbe populations that have become imbalanced and for promoting healthy skin.


And unlike bacterial probiotics, S. boulardii isn’t affected by antibiotics, so it can also be used during antibiotic treatment to help with the digestive side effects that antibiotics often cause. Studies have shown that when S. boulardii is given along with an antibiotic, pets are much less likely to develop diarrhea during or after the course of medication.


S. boulardii is also resilient to stomach acid, so when it reaches the intestines, it’s still intact and alive, while many bacterial probiotics die in the stomach and never make it to the gut. Once in the gut, S. boulardii produces friendly compounds called short-chain fatty acids, which support a diverse microbiome, a strong gut barrier, and a well-functioning immune system.


About Fructooligosaccharides (FOS)


Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) are tiny, soluble fibers. The raw material from which the FOS in our S. boulardii + FOS is produced is Non-GMO beet sugar*. These particular fibers are prebiotic, meaning that they are the preferred food of beneficial microbes like the ones in your pet’s gut. Making sure all the beneficial members of the gut microbiome get enough of the right food is crucial not just for healthy digestion but also for a strong immune system, healthy skin, and even a happy mood. Studies in dogs have shown that supplementation with FOS improves both gut health and immune function.

Worth the money

This helps my dog who has IBD. He does not get an upset stomach nearly as much as he use to. It took awhile to figure out what combination works best for him but AnimalBiome S. boulardii + FOS Powder and his probiotic have made him so much better.

Amazing pre and probiotic!

My shitzu started having a very sensitive tummy. He would get bloody diarrhea a lot. I used a lot of different products but this one was it! I'm forever thankful!

Excellent results!!!

I am so glad I finally found a company that has products that actually work! I had a diabetic 16 y/o female kitty that was frequently on antibiotics for approximately 9 years, which destroyed her gut. She was plagued with constant diarrhea for years causing frequent UTI's and battling various E. Coli strains that would get out of control. I had her stool tested and was able to start her on the S. boulardi + FOS powder and the Gut Restore. It took about 6-7 weeks, but her stools returned to normal! Being this is a yeast based probiotic it isn't destroyed like most probiotics on the market. Thank you for your companies commitment to better health for our pet's!!! This also helped my 5 1/2 y/o male kitty. He's had to be on antibiotics due to struvite crystals and also developed constant diarrhea. This worked for him as well. I wish more vet's had a better understanding that, like in people, antibiotics can cause significant gut issues that have to be addressed rather than just giving anti-sposmadics. Thank you again!!!

I adopted a 10 year old dog last year who had suffered from a very poor diet for years. Chronic bouts of diarrhea and bloody/mucous layered stool led to a diagnosis (after various testing) of Irritable Bowel Disease. Although different antibiotics had been prescribed for over 6 months, when each course of medication ended, diarrhea returned. Then I read about S boulardi and how it helps to firm up stool plus provide pre and probiotics to help with providing a more healthy canine gut. My dog has been diarrhea free since starting this product. Thank you Animal Biome!
